In 2021, we won the Housing Contest first prize again, this time tackling a more complex brief: a house and two apartments on a small corner lot. We responded by stacking the units vertically, ensuring efficient circulation with a single stairwell for all units while also maintaining privacy for the rooftop duplex. The open ground floor provided shared space and parking, while adjustable louvers balanced openness and privacy. Facing a public square, the design emphasized cross-ventilation and strong urban integration. As the tallest project built in the competition’s history, it challenged conventional residential models. The project was later impacted by post-pandemic budget constraints: one floor removed, louvers substituted by external rollers and entrance lobby, rooftop and landscape removed.
